Crawley Down Camera Club began in 2012 to help residents of Crawley Down and the surrounding villages improve their photography - regardless of their starting point, whether complete novice or experienced amateur.
Smartphone Photography is very much part of the club’s activity, encouraged and welcomed! You do not need a ‘fancy’ or expensive camera!
We have an interesting programme of events throughout the year, and our experienced and highly qualified Guest Speakers have included Stan Farrow on Photo Art, Peter Benson on Cityscapes, Roger Hance on portraits and photojournalism, and Simon Street on Mono photography.
We have regular “learning sessions” on a variety of photographic topics and these link to our Club competitions, where we try out new ideas and improve our skills. Members are encouraged to show their own photographs in informal “10x10” sessions (sharing circa ten images in a circa ten-minute presentation).
We meet at the Haven Centre in Crawley Down, in the Birch room, on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The programme for the current season is available on the Diary tab with details of imminent events on the Events tab.
Just starting your journey in photography, revisiting after some time away or just because you like photography! Whatever method you use to take your pictures you will be welcome.
We are affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Surrey Photographic Association (SPA).
